During the Aug. 20 Northampton Borough Council meeting, council provided an update on several enhancements residents will soon be able to enjoy across the borough parks.
First, new playground equipment has been installed at Canal Street Park by Public Works, replacing a 30-plus-year-old wooden playground. Funding for the project was awarded through a grant.
Among the new amenities are a play set, swings, dodgeball pit and basketball hoops, purchased from French Creek Elementary School in Pottstown earlier this spring. About $8,500 of the $20,000 grant was used, with $11,500 remaining for additional park projects…
