WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Detectives with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said they are working to learn more about a crash that killed a 66-year-old man Monday afternoon just outside of Marne.
The Belmont man was driving north on 8th Avenue near Garfield Street in a pickup truck around 4 p.m. when he veered off the road and crashed into a tree, deputies said.

He was taken to an area hospital where he later died, according to the sheriff’s office. No other vehicles were involved and the 66-year-old was the only person in the pickup truck.
The intersection was closed while crews responded, but it has since reopened…
