Knox County visitor spending hits $2.2 billion, outpacing statewide growth rate

KNOX COUNTY, TENN. (WATE) — Knox County tourism generated more than $2.2 billion in visitor spending in 2025.

Tourism continues to be a major economic driver in Knox County, as the newly released data from the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development shows exactly how the county’s local economy has been affected.

The $2.2 billion in visitor spending represents a 3.9% increase from 2024, outpacing Tennessee’s statewide growth of 2.7%.
