WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WNCN) — Three lanes on one side of Interstate 40 are closed Monday afternoon due to a crash.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation’s live traffic map, the crash happened on the eastbound side of I-40 just before Harrison Avenue (Exit 287) around 2:30 p.m.
The incident has caused massive backups on both sides. Traffic cameras in the area show clogged lanes past Aviation Parkway on the eastbound side and to at least Wade Avenue on the westbound side.
