Signs promoting white supremacist group found in NYC

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Advance/SILive.com identified at least two signs in New Dorp on Monday promoting the white supremacist Patriot Front group.

Found along Hylan Boulevard near The Boulevard and Tysens Park Shopping Center, one sign reads “STRONG FAMILIES STRONG NATIONS” with a blue-outlined family and a web address for the group. Another sign reads “DEFEND AMERICAN LABOR” with a blue pickaxe and blue hammer crossing to form an “X”.

The Southern Poverty Law Center identifies the group as a “white nationalist hate group.” Members of Patriot Front have drawn notoriety for their demonstrations in which they wear blue polos, khaki pants and white masks concealing their identities.

Patriot Front broke off from another white supremacist group, Vanguard America, following the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, and is led by Thomas Rousseau, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center…
