TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Rep. Byron Donalds visited the Tampa Electric Operations Center in Lutz on Monday. He toured the facility to see its power restoration efforts this hurricane season. The Republican gubernatorial nominee also spoke to linemen, who are being trained to restore power in Tampa Bay’s communities, during his campaign visit.
Following that event, Donalds answered questions from journalists. Most questions involved the handling of a $10 million Medicaid settlement.

A sealed grand jury report, obtained by CBS Miami, accused the DeSantis administration of misappropriating taxpayer settlement funds. The report traced the money that first went to the Hope Florida charity, founded by First Lady Casey DeSantis.
