Former KSAT anchor Sarah Acosta announces next chapter after departure

After 17 years in television news, former KSAT-12 anchor Sarah Acosta has announced her next chapter following her departure from the local station.

On LinkedIn, Acosta, a longtime favorite of the station’s viewership, said in an August 19 post that she will join FirstDay Foundation, a charitable organization that works with nonprofits, as Director of Media Relations. Acosta joined KSAT in 2018 and became a familiar face on “Good Morning San Antonio,” covering major stories across South Texas. Before arriving in San Antonio, she reported in Sacramento and Corpus Christi.

“I traded the newsroom for a new kind of storytelling,” Acosta wrote in the post. “…I’m taking my love of storytelling, connecting with people and shining a light on the work happening in our communities into this new role. FirstDay Foundation’s mission is simple but powerful: ‘Making Good, Greater.’ The Foundation supports nonprofit organizations doing meaningful work for children, families and communities — here at home and around the world.”…
