TULSA, Okla. — EMSA has issued its fourth Medical Heat Alert for 2026. They say it is in response to an increase in heat-related emergency calls in the Tulsa service area.
The organization states it responded to 12 suspected heat-related illness calls in the Tulsa area and of those patients, 11 were taken to local hospitals for more evaluation and treatment.
Over the course of the year, EMSA has responded to 428 heat-related illness calls in the area, and have taken 278 people to local hospitals. They say it has already surpassed the total annual number of transport counts record in both 2025 and 2024…
