Authorities report that Maxim was lured to his death by two girls, aged 15 and 16, who allegedly wanted to experience the act of killing. The suspects, whose names remain confidential due to their minor status, were arrested on suspicion of premeditated murder. Investigations suggest a disturbing connection to violent content circulating on social media platforms like TikTok.
According to law enforcement sources, the girls planned the attack meticulously: they purchased gloves and knives, convinced Maxim to meet them under the pretense of hanging out, and left their phones behind to avoid detection. The meeting spot was an abandoned building in the village of Kabanovo, near Orekhovo-Zuevo.
One of the suspects reportedly shared violent TikTok videos depicting brutal acts, fueling concerns about the influence of such content. While one girl had been accepted into medical college as a trainee nurse, the other intended to pursue a career in tourism. The 15-year-old has admitted guilt and shown remorse, according to police and her family.
Maxim’s mother expressed disbelief and anguish over the situation, questioning how someone with such intentions could be admitted to a medical program. She also revealed that the murder had been planned since late August.
