Mayor’s office: ‘There is no backup option’ for homeless shelter location if funding vote fails

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A vote on funding to buy a downtown building for a proposed low-barrier homeless shelter in Fort Wayne is set for Tuesday.

Mayor Sharon Tucker has spent months discussing her administration’s plan with the public and the council. The proposal would turn a building at 333 East Washington Boulevard into a low-barrier shelter, called the Anchor Resource Center.
