Grace Meat + Three closing September 13 in the Grove

Grace Meat + Three (4270 Manchester), the nine-year-old restaurant inspired by the Southern tradition of pairing a choice of meat with three side dishes, will close after service on September 13, owners Rick and Elisa Lewis announced.

With its lease in The Grove coming up for renewal, the husband-and-wife team chose to consolidate operations at sister concept Grace Chicken + Fish (8654 Watson), which opened in Crestwood in June 2025 in a building the couple was able to purchase, which was a big factor. Lewis says the location has the capacity to accommodate everything under one roof, including the brand’s catering business and food truck.

“Things have changed for us in the last year and a half,” Lewis reflects. “The year started out strong, then sales slowed down little by little, while cost of labor and goods continued to increase.

“Plus, it’s a big ol’ building,” Lewis says of the 4,700-square-foot space,” Lewis says. “It had a bar, and we never were a bar kind of place, so that was another piece of overhead we weren’t maximizing. It just didn’t make sense to renew [the lease] given the compounding circumstances, no matter how favorable the terms. And we love the landlord, Guy Slay. We had a very good partnership.
