Ross-owned discount brand plans new, $1.4M store in San Antonio

San Antonio residents will soon have a new budget-friendly store to visit. A major Ross-owned brand is investing a proposed $1.4 million into a new location on the Southeast Side.

The California-founded business DD’s Discounts is eyeing a spot in the Mission Crossing shopping center, according to a recently submitted Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) filing. According to the report, submitted on Tuesday, August 25, the company plans to remodel about 32,546 square feet of the suite to reflect its branding.

Part of the Ross family, the company’s website says it offers home decor, toys, and other lifestyle items at lower prices than other retailers. A past press release states that the first few shops opened in 2004, targeting households with incomes of $30,000 to $40,000.
