MEDINA, Ohio – Three police officers have begun basic police academy in Columbus as they prepare to become officers with the Medina Police Department.
Mayor Jim Shields swore in Officers Brad Delphia, Michael Pappas and Vince McBride Aug. 20 at Medina City Hall. All three reported to the police academy in Columbus Aug. 24.
“They were three really strong candidates,” Shields said during an Aug. 24 council meeting. “Two are filling retirements and the third is filling an extra space. It was such a great class of candidates. We weren’t looking to fill that third spot right now, but we just didn’t want to pass on any of these guys. I think we are really going to be impressed when they finish academy and join us here.”…
