Charlotte business owner sentenced to prison for Medicaid fraud scheme

A Charlotte business owner was sentenced to 48 months in prison for submitting fraudulent bills to the North Carolina Medicaid Program for services that were never provided, federal authorities announced.

The defendant, Crystal Sherrell Jackson, 40, was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Kenneth D. Bell to pay $1,623,983.08 in restitution.
