One week after Tallahassee’s school-zone speed cameras began clocking drivers, new data shows speeding violations dropped near some schools while climbing at others.

Tallahassee school-zone speed cameras show mixed results in first week of enforcement
Data obtained from Tallahassee Police shows the camera watching northbound traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard — near RAA Middle School — flagged 82 potential violations on the first day of the school year. Seven days later, that number dropped to 51, a decrease of nearly 40%.
Over the first five school days, that same camera still flagged 309 potential violations, more than any other location in TPD’s report…
