JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Pearl Riverkeeper will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Clean Sweep on September 19, 2026. Volunteers will join together for a community-wide effort to clean up the waterways.
Over the past nine years, the annual event has brought together more than 5,000 volunteers who have removed 200,000 pounds of trash from the Pearl River watershed.
Mississippi Highway Patrol to increase patrols for Labor Day 2026
The 2026 event will include 20 land and water-based locations from the Pearl River’s headwaters near Philadelphia, Mississippi, downriver through the Ross Barnett Reservoir, along the Mississippi-Louisiana border and all the way to Pearl River, Louisiana. It also includes a location on the Strong River.
