GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Dollar General is marking September’s Hunger Action Month by highlighting its impact on food insecurity across Arkansas, announcing that the company donated more than 1.2 million pounds of food to Feeding America food banks during the first seven months of 2026.
The donations supported families served by Arkansas Foodbank, River Valley Regional Foodbank, Northwest Arkansas Food Bank and the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.
Denine Torr, Dollar General’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy, said Hunger Action Month underscores the scale of the issue, noting that nearly 48 million people nationwide, including more than 14 million children, face food insecurity.
