Rockford Family Peace Center secures $150,000 in state funds for facility upgrades

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — State and community leaders recently toured updated facilities at the Family Peace Center following new funding secured for domestic violence survivor services. State Rep. Dave Vella and the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois helped secure approximately $150,000 in state funds for the center.

The state grant was allocated toward security and facility upgrades. The improvements represent one component of a broader multi-million dollar project that aims to roughly quadruple the center’s services for survivors.

As part of the facility upgrades, two partner organizations will join the facility. The Carrie Lynn Children’s Center and MERIT will operate under the same roof as the Family Peace Center…
