Mills County board backs Kane Avenue design agreement, patrol vehicle purchase order

(Glenwood) — Mills County officials have backed a design contract for a improving a stretch of road outside of Pacific Junction.

At its regular meeting Tuesday morning, the Mills County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a design contract with V&K Engineering for the Kane Avenue overlay for $24,700. County Engineer Jacob Ferro says the project area would extend along Kane Avenue from the Pacific Junction city limits and out past the Iowa Department of Transportation facilities for 1.3 miles.

“There’s a section of new concrete pavement, we’ll start at the end of that and then from there to the city limits of Pacific Junction, we’re going to just do a mill and fill,” said Ferro. “It’s a real small project where we’ll mill off two inches and put about two and a half inches back with new shoulders. It’s just a facelift for it.”…
