DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora police said that a 14-year-old boy from Denver was arrested early Sunday morning in connection with a shooting at Sand Creek Park that left one man injured.
In a social media post, the Aurora Police Department said officers responded to the park at around 1:51 a.m., immediately giving medical aid, including a tourniquet, to the victim, which doctors reportedly said saved the man’s life.

At the scene, investigators determined that the gunshots were fired from a red pickup truck towards a group of people, and officials found the vehicle hours later, also recovering a gun.
The truck was stopped, and the 14-year-old approached an officer at the original scene, reportedly confessing to the shooting.

The boy was arrested on the following charges:
- Attempted first-degree murder
- Aggravated assault
- Reckless endangerment
- Possession of a handgun — as a juvenile
