Alleging unsafe living conditions, tenant sues West Tacoma landlord

A tenant at a housing complex in West Tacoma is suing her landlord for allegedly subjecting her to unsafe and deteriorating living conditions and steep rent hikes.

Melody Frazier has since 2017 lived at Westside Estates, also known as “North Pearl Street,” according to the Washington Secretary of State’s website. The lawsuit, filed on Sept. 1, alleges that North Pearl Street Limited Partnership failed to maintain safe living conditions, illegally increased Frazier’s rent and retaliated against Frazier for speaking openly about her concerns about Westside Estates with the media…
