The backstory:
Before she ever cared for a tiny patient at Ascension St. Joseph’s NICU, Megan White was one. She was born at 29 weeks and weighed 2 pounds, 8 ounces.
“I always knew I wanted to work with babies and children,” White, a NICU nurse at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital, said.
White spent the early days of her life fighting to survive and was placed on a ventilator. On her due date, she was released and has lived a healthy life ever since.…
