Allentown has been named the most challenging city in the United States for people living with asthma, marking the third time in four years the Pennsylvania city has claimed the top spot in a national report.
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America released its 2026 Asthma Capitals report Tuesday, ranking Allentown as having the highest rate of asthma-related emergency department visits among the 100 most populated metropolitan areas in the contiguous United States. The city also showed high asthma prevalence overall.
