BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office said the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) is investigating after a detainee passed away.
Deputies identified the detainee as Amy Owenby. She was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility on Aug. 24 just after 6 p.m. on outstanding warrants.
Due to Owenby displaying signs of medical distress, deputies said she was taken to Mission Hospital around 9 p.m. that same evening…
