Immigration activist hit by ICE vehicle outside Delaney Hall

NEWARK, N.J. (PIX11) — Immigration activists are calling on the New Jersey Attorney General to investigate after a woman was hit by an ICE vehicle outside Delaney Hall Monday night.

Activist Casey Ward said the incident happened during a weekly prayer vigil. Cell phone video shows an ICE agent drive through the crowd and hit a woman who does not move out of the way.

“He accelerates, you hear a blood-curdling scream, and my friend is on the ground,” said Ward.

Ward says the activists hold the vigil away from traffic, next to an entrance of Delaney Hall typically used for visitor and employee parking. During the last few minutes of the vigil, activists gather in the middle of the driveway for a final prayer. Ward says the driveway is not actively used at that time of day and that they do not block traffic. She believes ICE deliberately tried to interfere…
