NAPOLEONVILLE — Ten alleged child predators were arrested in an undercover operation led by the Attorney General’s Office and the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.
As part of “Operation Bottom Dweller,” law enforcement worked to identify and arrest people allegedly using electric or online platforms to sexually exploit minors.
The AG’s office said notable arrests include Malcolm Barnes III, a 35-year-old minister from New Iberia who has since been released on a $150,000 bond, and Lesli Joel Calix Sarmiento, a 36-year-old Honduran national living in Slidell who allegedly had sex with someone younger than 16.
