Paroled killer charged with threatening to harm coworkers in St. Charles

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – A St. Louis man convicted of a fatal shooting in Pennsylvania and out on parole has been charged with threatening to kill coworkers in St. Charles.

According to the St. Charles County Police Department, the threats were made on Aug. 20 and Aug. 21.

Police said David E. Downing Jr., 40, arrived late to work for a roofing company that was finishing a job at the Lewis & Clark Career Center on Zumbehl Road. A member of the management team noticed Downing was not working and reported him to the boss…
