The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed 540 measles cases across 36 counties Wednesday, marking a continuing spread of the highly contagious virus that has killed two people since the outbreak began in late April.
The state has reported 43 new cases since Aug. 31 — two days ago. About 90 people have been hospitalized.
Lancaster County leads the state in cases, with 242 this year. Mifflin County has had 49. Snyder, York, Lebanon and Jefferson counties have had 20-23 cases each. Four have been reported in Dauphin County, and two in Lehigh County…
