FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Two crashes on Interstate 469 were the source of a traffic jam Thursday morning near New Haven.
The collisions happened in the southbound lanes, which were shut down near the U.S. 24 interchange, a spokesperson for the Allen County Sheriff’s Department confirmed. One instance involved a box truck. A WANE 15 crew at the scene said it flipped over. No other vehicles were involved in that crash.
Further along the southbound lanes, three vehicles collided. The sheriff’s department said none of the injuries in either crash were initially deemed to be life-threatening.
The backup started before 8 a.m.; an hour later, vehicles were at a standstill. Traffic appeared to be flowing again by about 9:45 a.m…
