The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office reached a plea deal this week with a former California Highway Patrol officer from Castaic accused of criminal threats, illegal possession of an assault weapon, illegal possession of ghost guns and contempt of court.
The plea for Brian Timothy Powers, 44, was announced in open court Monday, but the terms were expected to be given at a hearing later this month.
Judge Kevin Rosenberg accepted the deal and ordered the defendant back for a probation and sentencing report from the county’s Probation Department. Powers was ordered to relinquish his firearms…
