Former gymnastics coach pleads guilty to coercion of two children

A former gymnastics coach pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to charges stemming from unlawful sexual activity involving two 13-year-old victims.

Marco A. Zomphier, 32, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor.

Zomphier admitted meeting the first victim in 2012 when she was 13 and participated in a YMCA dance and gymnastics program where he was a coach and member. The two began communicating through text messages, the ooVoo video calling application, and the Kik messaging application…
