WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The owner of apartments in Northeast faces a lawsuit, with D.C.’s attorney general alleging there are serious issues in the building.
People who live in and around the Delta Pearl apartment building shared their concerns with DC News Now and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), saying air conditioning has been broken for several months, elevators in the 10-story building are broken, and that there are bugs, rats and a trash problem.
“It’s just horrible if you go inside. There’s a smell from the deceased rats in the ceiling. When the fire happened on the seventh floor, all of the water rained down, which caused the rest of the water to be in the lobby,” said Emani Scott, who has relatives and friends living in the building…
