When Keely Stagg first toured her apartment in Columbus, Ohio, the unit was still occupied, meaning she didn’t get the chance to thoroughly inspect everything before moving in. One thing she did ask about was a set of French doors in the dining room, which she was told didn’t open.
“Naturally, as soon as I got the keys, I knew I immediately had to try and open the mystery doors because I didn’t believe that they just didn’t open,” Stagg tells PEOPLE exclusively. “If anything, I figured it would be just a wall behind the doors.”
