FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man dubbed “Skateboard Guy” has been rearrested after failing to appear in restitution hearings following a year-long prison sentence for using a skateboard to attack a fast-food restaurant during the 2020 protests.
30-year-old Austin Xavier Chaney-Kulp has been arrested again after he did not show up for two restitution hearings in two separate cases related to his guilty plea of rioting, where he was sentenced to one year in prison and to pay back the businesses he harmed.
In 2020, a video of Chaney-Kulp gained attention online, showing him using his skateboard to break the window of a Jimmy John’s located in downtown Fort Wayne during the Black Lives Matter protests.
