FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man was handed decades of prison time four years after he was first charged in a federal investigation uncovering a fentanyl trafficking operation in Fort Wayne.
Wednesday, 33-year-old Robert Lamons II was sentenced to 30 years in prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess more than 400 grams of fentanyl, according to U.S. District Court documents.
Lamons was busted after setting up deals with someone who turned out to be an informant working with the FBI’s Fort Wayne Safe Streets Gang Task Force. He was also accused of importing fentanyl from the Southwest and using minors to help sell the pills in bulk.
