The comedy world is mourning the loss of Danny Maupin, a Louisville, Kentucky-based performer and co-host of the beloved live comedy show Late Late Breakfast, who died this week, with 2,500 friends strong on Facebook, according to tribute posts flooding social media from fellow comedians across the country.

Maupin spent over a decade as host of Late Late Breakfast alongside Tyler Jackson, a show friends describe as one of the wildest and most inventive theme shows in stand-up comedy.

Fans recalled bizarre bits like an Oreo conveyor belt with mayonnaise-stuffed cookies, comedians wrapped in aluminum foil to resemble the St. Louis Arch, and other stunts that made the show legendary among touring comics.
