Metro police involved in shootout on Dickerson Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville authorities were reportedly involved in a shootout at a motel along Dickerson Pike Thursday afternoon.

According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the incident was reported shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, in the 2900 block of Dickerson Pike.

Metro Nashville Police Department Public Information Officer Brooke Reese said officers from the East Precinct responded to the Royal Inn Thursday afternoon to investigate a stolen gray sedan in the parking lot, which led law enforcement to a room on the first floor. Officers encountered three occupants, including a male and a female who exited without incident, but another man in the room allegedly fired at authorities.

Reese confirmed two patrol officers returned fire in order to protect themselves and, “through their tactics, were able to get the suspect into custody without further incident.”…
