Springfield woman wins first $15 million lottery prize in scratch ticket game

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Springfield woman has won the first $15 million prize in a Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket game.

Lori Morales won the grand prize on the “$15,000,000 Magnificent Millions” scratch ticket. She chose the cash option for her prize, receiving a one-time payment of $9,750,000 before taxes. Morales says she plans to use her winnings to help her family and purchase a new home.

Morales bought her ticket at Cumberland Farms, located at 1061 Memorial Drive in Chicopee. The store will receive a bonus of $50,000 for the sale.

The Massachusetts State Lottery said there are currently two unclaimed $15 million grand prizes remaining in the “Magnificent Millions” game.
