NEW ORLEANS, La (WVUE) – The Washington Parish Coroner’s Office has confirmed that human remains found in a trash can in January 2026 belong to a 78-year-old Franklinton man who was confirmed missing in January.
The coroner made the announcement on Sept. 3, saying analysis of the remains did not indicate signs of foul play.
Carley Provost Sr. had been missing since June 2025, according to his family, but authorities were not aware of it until his son and caretaker, Carley Provost Jr., was arrested in relation to an unrelated murder early January 2026…
