Second man pleads guilty in $9 million Missouri gambling ring

(KODE/KSNF) — A second suspect has pleaded guilty in a suspected multi-million-dollar illegal gambling ring in southwest Missouri.Sunikumar Patel, 53, of New York, pleaded guilty today to four counts that include wire fraud and money laundering. Patel says he and 8 other people brought in more than $9 million through illegal gambling businesses at six locations across southwest Missouri.

Rahulkumar Patel pleaded guilty to his role in the scheme back in April.One of the locations was the Spin Zone, which was operated out of this building at 2331 East 7th Street in Joplin. Four of the businesses were in Springfield and the other one was in Branson West.

According to court documents, the 9 people operated these illegal gambling businesses from July 2022 to May 2025, advertising them as internet amusement arcade games, skill game arcades and adult arcades…
