(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — As the nation prepares to remember the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, public commemoration ceremonies are being planned across Southern Colorado for the community to come together and mourn those we lost, while celebrating the heroic actions of those who ran toward the the smoke to try and save lives.
Almost 25 years have passed since that solemn day–long enough that some adults don’t remember when American airspace went still and the nation stopped to watch in disbelief as thousands were lost to the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil.
Whether you remember that day or not, all are invited to attend public commemoration ceremonies that will honor the lives lost and celebrate the actions of firefighters, police officers, healthcare workers, and countless others who opened their hearts and homes to protect and care for their fellow Americans…
