BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — After nine months at sea, the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln docked in Thailand Wednesday, providing much needed relief for the 5,000 on board.
Following a record 250 consecutive days at sea, those aboard the USS Lincoln are back on solid ground.

“The most I’ve ever done was 102 days at sea, three months in the Persian Gulf — but nine months? That is too long for them to be out there,” said Roberto Rangels, a Navy veteran who joined shortly after the Vietnam War.
The nuclear-powered carrier began its deployment last November, leaving San Diego glistening. The salt water not only corroded its exterior, but likely the morale as well…
