Castlewood bridge closure frustrates residents ahead of city meeting

MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. (WTVM) – A bridge connecting the Georgian Hills and Castlewood subdivisions has been closed for nearly two months, and residents are looking for answers.

Bridge issues date back years

Jim Nuetzel, a Castlewood resident for more than 30 years, said the bridge started dipping about four years ago. He said residents told the city about it at that time and nothing was done.

About two months ago, a vehicle was damaged because of the bridge, leading to its closure.

“One of the neighbors car fell in it when it had started falling badly and it did serious damage to her car. And then they called the city and they put the barricades up,” Nuetzel said…
