Skipping the soap, black slime. What Sacramento-area restaurant inspections revealed

Sacramento County Health Inspectors gave a red placard to a nursing home after finding German cockroaches in various life stages throughout the facility.

Additionally, 14 eateries received citations for health food violations including slime accumulation in the ice machine, a blocked sink and fresh noodles improperly cooling.

What do these inspections mean?

While a yellow placard signals two or more major violations, these are typically corrected or mitigated during the inspection, according to the Sacramento County Retail Food Inspection Guide.
