MAUMELLE, Ark. – There will be an increased police presence on the Maumelle High School campus Friday due to an online threat.
Officers with the Maumelle Police Department said they were informed of an AI-generated “cat in the hat” threat to the high school on social media. Police said this type of threat has been made to various schools nationwide.
Police said there is no evidence to support the credibility of the threat at this time, but there will still be officers present at the school.
