The former National American Bank Building on Carondelet Street, a historic high rise in the Central Business District that was converted to an apartment complex after Katrina, has new, local owners with fresh plans for the nearly century-old structure.
Michael Merideth and Andre Lewis, co-founders of the New Orleans-based real estate development company Verius Property Group, purchased the 23-story building last month for $27 million with backing from local and national investors.
The seller was an out-of-state partnership that included Housing Preservation Trust, a Georgia-based nonprofit that develops affordable housing.
