ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity gathered on Sept. 3 to celebrate four local families achieving homeownership.
This comes as the area has noticed an increased need for affordable housing. The four families were honored with a dedication and key-passing ceremony to celebrate their new homes in Habitat for Humanity’s “New Heights Neighborhood” in Asheville.
“The families that we’re celebrating with today really reflect who we are as a community…all different walks of life,” Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity CEO Andy Barnett said. “There are new immigrants, longtime Asheville residents, older adults, young kids.
