CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cuyahoga County Law Director Rick Manoloff will step down Sept. 11 for personal reasons after serving as the county’s chief legal officer since 2023, County Executive Chris Ronayne announced Friday.
His departure comes just days after County Council voted to place before voters a proposed charter amendment aimed at settling a contentious dispute over how legal responsibilities should be divided between Manoloff’s law department and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. The compromise measure, which followed months of public disagreement between the offices, will appear on the November ballot.
