COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Additional thunderstorms will impact Columbus weather Friday and Saturday. A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Friday for portions of Central Ohio. Temperatures will cool this holiday weekend.
Columbus weather today: hot, humid, scattered thunderstorms
Friday is not a wash, but there are periodic rounds of rain and thunderstorms.
While not everyone will see thunderstorms, similar to Thursday, the storms that do develop could become strong to severe.
Once again, gusty winds are possible with these storms. Brief heavy rain is also possible. Make sure everything in your yard is secure (patio furniture, umbrellas, decorations, trash cans).
Outside of storms, it is mostly sunny, hot, and humid. Temperatures will climb into the low 90s today, which is slightly cooler than the past few days, but heat indices in the 100-105 degree range are still possible.
A heat advisory remains in effect for portions of Central Ohio until 8 p.m. Friday. Make sure, especially ahead of your Friday night plans, that you are staying hydrated and taking breaks from the heat.
Friday night could see an isolated shower or thunderstorm, but many will stay dry for Friday night plans.
