ALPINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Facebook Marketplace meetup last summer in Alpine Township that resulted in a deadly shooting has the 19-year-old gunman headed to prison.
A judge this week sentenced Santiago Christopher Barajas to three to 15 years in prison for manslaughter. He will also serve a mandatory two-year term for a felony firearms conviction. A separate case charging him with carrying a concealed weapon was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Barajas was arrested after the body of 28-year-old Mark Allen Blakley III was found in the woods behind York Creek Apartments.
